If her appearance doesn't have some relation to anything it would just be lazy writing though (like I've been saying the whole time). You also have to think of it from a writing perspective. If the author(s) creates a character vital to the plot that bears an extreme likeness to another character and then just leave it at that... What was the point? Why not make her look completely different then?

"Like I said, Kagari looks like Kurisu because of the deja vu effect. It's not nothing..." Is what you said. I might have misinterpreted it but it sounded like that's what you were saying. With that mixup out of the way, I've really been trying to figure this out, so I've gathered the most popular theories here-

-Kagari is Okabe and Kurisu's child (Disproven)

-Kagari is a clone of Kurisu (Possibility)

-Kagari is just another regular person (Possibility)

-Kagari is Kurisu (Disproven)

Like I've been saying this entire time, we don't know her real family name. It would seem like lazy writing if at the end her appearance was mere coincidence. (Plus, red hair in Japan is crazy rare anyway). Even though the process is long and convuluted, SHE COULD be a clone of Kurisu. At the moment this seems like the most logical theory, but that's only until I think up a better one... She could also just be another World War III orphan, but the amount of coincidences there just seems a bit impossible.

I have another theory, but I need to ask a question first: Would Kagari exist on other attractor fields besides Beta? The answer will determine the validity of my theory.

I believe we are meaning different things. Yes, there are characters that remember events from other world lines, but there has never ever been a time when their memories ALTERED the appearance of characters or places in said word line. This brings the main question back into focus: Why does Kagari look so much like Kurisu? It seems highly unlikely that another character's memories "modified" her appearance to look like Kurisu.

I agree that Asvestor's explanation is more complicated, but it's too massive of a similarity to be a concidence (MAD company). If the series ended and they never explained why she looked so similar, I would be disappointed. (along with all the rest of the fandom). Episode 18 explained a little bit, but not exactly about her origins.

MAD company, I remember you saying that Kagari's appearance is the result of the deja vu effect, in that Okabe's memories of Kurisu resulted in Kagari looking like she does. It sounds like an interesting theory, but there's no other occurences of something like that taking place (Unless I don't properly understand the concept, in which case I'd like to know more). The writers make a point in us NOT KNOWING her real family name. To chalk her appearance up as coincidence with that fact present sort of seems like jumping to a conclusion a bit too early.

She can't be Kurisu's daughter because she... sorta dies? Way before Kagari is even born?

I also don't think she is Kurisu, because when the labmems find her grown up, she looks different than Kurisu. (With a different voice? How do you explain that?)

So, she's found as a war orphan in World War III, taken in by Mayuri (btw I think Mayuri would have taken her in even if she didn't look like Kurisu) and is chosen as an Amadeus data testing subject. A question to ask is, why would the doctor pick Kagari as his test subject, out of everyone else? It seems like they're trying to recreate Amadeus in the future. (Doesn't the procedure seem odd and unrefined? They don't have the exact method like Maho and Leskin, so they're trying to recreate it.) But why would you contain a random war orphan's memories in a data simulation? They would have to be important. She would have to know something that they want. Perhaps memories of how to build a certain time machine. This suggests that she somehow has some contact/relation with Kurisu. I do not think her appearance is a coincidence.

The only problem is that Kurisu dies waaaaaay early in the timeline, so a thought is that Kagari is not from the beta attractor field? What if she was from, maybe alpha?

Ohhh... Ok. I think I get it.

And yeah, it's a solid story.

Ok. So then that happens, which then allows the sg wl to be accessible, which is a worldline where suzuha is not?

Sorry, I'm still confused by the point your making... She became nonexistent in the time machine. I mean, I get it, but at the same time I don't. If that makes sense.

But... Operation Skuld didn't happen on the Steins;Gate wl, so Suzuha's presence wasn't there.

I thought that after they traveled to the steins;gate worldline, Suzuha disappeared altogether. Remember, on the way back after *spoilers* okabe convinces his past self that kurisu was killed, they're in the time machine and suzuha says "see you in six years" (or something like that), and then time rewrites. She's not hiding. She's not there at all.

Steins;Gate is my favorite show because, wait for it... It has no plot holes. The story has had so much thought put into it that, even if you look, you will not find any plot holes. Even the rather confusing subjects such as the separate attractor field divergence points and the mechanics behind several instances that seemingly appear to be paradoxes are all wonderfully and brilliantly explained.
