Kaede Kurushima (来嶋 かえで, Kurushima Kaede), as a cosplayer known as only Kaede, is a side character in Steins;Gate 0 who was first mentioned in Steins;Gate. She is a cosplayer and a friend of Mayuri Shiina and Fubuki. At university she studies the Sengoku period.

Kaede possesses long black hair and brown eyes. She is described as having a figure akin to a magazine model's.

Kaede became friends with Mayuri Shiina at an event with Fubuki. From that point onward Mayuri would often sew cosplay costumes for Kaede.

Steins;Gate 0[]
Kaede appears multiple times as a side character throught the story, usually alongside Fubuki.
She is the one to recognize "K6205" as a Kochel number and later plays piano for the others after they help clean Faris's apartment.

- Kaede plays the piano and is interested in classical music, especially Mozart.
- In the Blended Coffee Encounter drama CD, it is hinted that Kaede may be in love with Fubuki.[1]
Etymology[]
- Kaede's surname Kurushima means "come/coming, due, next, cause, become" (来) (kuru) and "island" (嶋) (shima).
