In the Beta Attractor Field, Kurisu Makise was inspired to write a Time Travel thesis. Within, she proposes the various ideas that would later form the basis for a semi-functional time machine used by the Russian government prior to nuclear war.
Ownership[]
Inspired by her father and John Titor's messages from the year 2000, Kurisu took the thesis she had written to Japan, and confronted her father after his conference in Akihabara's Radio Kaikan building. Although she suggested that they submit it under both of their names, her father took offence at sharing credit and attempted to steal the folder. In the ensuing struggle, Kurisu was either intentionally killed by her father or accidentally killed in a botched rescue attempt by a third party.
Makise Shouichi took the thesis for his own and ran from the scene, using "The Nakabachi Thesis" as leverage to defect to Russia.
Aftermath[]
In the Beta Attractor Field, possession of the thesis by Russian government officials led to a brief cold war-esque struggle between the US and Russia, resulting in the outbreak of Nuclear war. During the pseudo-cold war, attempts at gathering all data on Kurisu were made by many groups, including SERN, which at one point gathered enough data to win the time machine race, leading to a brief return to the Alpha Attractor Field. The Amadeus program, which held her memories, became highly sought after during this time due to its ability to recreate the thesis.
On the Steins Gate World Line, the Thesis was burned in a freak fire on the way to Russia. Although Shouichi attempted to recreate it, he proved unable, and was soon turned on by the Russian government he wished to defect to.
