Okabe and Kurisu finding each other on the Steins Gate World Line

The Steins Gate World Line is the ideal world line positioned between the Alpha and Beta Attractor Fields. This is the world line that Rintaro Okabe mentions and ultimately wants to land on throughout the story. It carries the divergence value of 1.048596%. The name Steins Gate was given to this world line by Okabe.

History[]

The history of the Steins Gate World Line is pretty much the same as the one of the Beta Attractor Field, however, one of the key differences is that Kurisu Makise doesn't die on this world line; rather, Okabe, having come back from the future, allows himself to be non-fatally stabbed in her place and tricks his past self into believing she had died. This distinction allows both Mayuri Shiina (who dies in the Alpha Attractor Field) and Kurisu Makise (who dies in the Beta Attractor Field) to both survive past August of 2010.

The other key difference on this world line, as opposed to the Beta World Lines, is that Dr. Nakabachi does not succeed in stealing Kurisu's Time Travel Thesis and bringing it to Russia. Instead, it's burned up on the plane as Mayuri's Metal Upa, that was supposed to be alongside it, had been switched out for a plastic one by Okabe, which would have otherwise set off the metal detectors and made Dr. Nakabachi put the thesis somewhere else.

Another draw of this world line is its future remain unknown for the Steins;Gate cast as World War III over the time travel thesis and SERN's dystopia are both averted on it. However, as it is demonstrated in the rest of the Science Adventure Series, the Committee of 300 is still apt to carry out various other schemes in an attempt to take control of the world on this world line.

The “R” World Line (This section may contain misleading information)[]

  • An unstable world line that is described as being separate from the Steins Gate World Line by a divergence difference of 0.000001%. Being so close in divergence from Steins Gate, the only difference is Okabe existence.
  • The spot for Lab Mem 001 is vacant and Itaru is the founder of the Future Gadget Lab even though he is designated Lab Mem 003 on this world line as well.
  • What caused the shift from R to Steins Gate is unknown. It is inferred by Suzuha that it is because of the instability of the Steins Gate world line and Okabe's Reading Steiner. It could be from the use of the time machine.
  • More important stuff about the R World Line can be found in the drama CD A Posteriori Existence, Kurisu elaborated the R World Line theory in the future, then she built the Time Machine and sent Suzuha in the past.

In the movie, Load and Beyond the Load regions are important plot elements and occur many times: Rintaro Okabe seems to be moved outside the Load Region, and after that, the world considers his existence to be vacant, as seen in everyone's memories and the vacant place 001 of the Lab Members. After Kurisu Makise came back from the past with Suzuha Amane after using a time machine to implement a strong memory into Okabe when he was a kid into order to maintain his existence by kissing him and telling him about Hououin Kyouma's personality, we can see Okabe in an area where, as if time has stopped, everything is frozen.
